APPG calls for halt to Smart Motorways
We are delighted to have been working with the Campaign for Safer Roadside Rescue and Recovery and the APPG for Roadside Rescue and Recovery to raise awareness of the serious problems with smart motorways. The APPG this week published a report into All Lane Running smart motorways that was the culmination of a months long evidence gathering process, which included written submissions as well as a select committee-style oral evidence session.
We worked with BBC Panorama to include some of the report’s findings as part of their programme ‘Britain’s Killer Motorways?’ shown on BBC One on 27th January. Some of the report’s findings were held back from Panorama and briefed for Tuesday’s newspapers. This led to us securing significant press coverage, including in The Sun, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, Metro, The Times and the front page of The Daily Telegraph.
