Catch up with Cancer: Day of Action

Feb 2, 2024 | News and Insights

We’re excited to share an update on our work supporting Radiotherapy UK and the hashtag#CatchupWithCancer campaign with an impactful day in Parliament to mark hashtag#WorldCancerDay 2024.

Yesterday morning was abuzz with broadcast and print media coverage for the campaign, including an excellent front-page newspaper feature for the charity’s new analysis. It was brilliant to work with a coalition of over 30 cancer charities, patients, and a group of dedicated clinicians outside Parliament unveiling a banner showing the scale of cancer waits. This set the scene for a compelling parliamentary ‘drop-in’ event attended by over 50 MPs. It was fantastic to see frontbench parliamentarians from all political parties in attendance, including the Shadow Health Secretary, Wes Streeting MP.

Addressing critical issues such as cancer waiting lists and access to vital cancer treatments like radiotherapy remains a priority for the campaign. We are proud to support Professor Pat Price and her brilliant Radiotherapy UK team with this important work.
