Ahead of the Budget in 2018, we were appointed by the Small Brewers Duty Reform Coalition to secure a review of small brewers duty relief. We succeeded in securing he review and in July 2020, the Treasury put forward proposals for reform backing our key asks!

The Coalition, which is made up of over 60 breweries had been calling for a review for a number of years, but had been unsuccessful. Our approach focused on:

• Building a strong economic case and securing meetings with key Treasury officials and Ministers

• Increasing the pressure to act through MP letters in support of the review

• A 'write to your MP' function to build political support

• Brewery visits for local MPs including Michael Gove MP
