January at Tendo

Media in Focus

It’s been another exciting month for the Tendo team, as we continue to help our clients amplify their voices through the media.

As we wrap up February, we’re proud to highlight some of the standout media hits we’ve secured across a variety of sectors. From national coverage to trade press, we’ve been helping our clients raise their profiles and drive impactful conversations in their respective fields.

Radiotherapy UK

Every month, the NHS publishes new data on cancer care waiting lists in England. Working with our client, Radiotherapy UK, we provide timely responses to these updates. For the January data release, comments from Radiotherapy UK’s Chair and leading oncologist, Professor Pat Price, were picked up by the Press Association and widely circulated across the UK. Additionally, as part of our ongoing efforts to continue to raise the media profile of our client, Radiotherapy UK, we worked with a variety of news outlets in January to provide comments on the ongoing cancer care crisis in the UK.

In January, this included:

  • Professor Price’s quote featured in a series of regional publications across the UK
  • Securing interviews with Professor Price on BBC Radio 4 Today programme, Times Radio Live and BBC Newshour
  • Three separate pieces of coverage in the Daily Mail with comments on the ongoing cancer care crisis

Brompton Bicycle

This month, we supported Brompton during the release and publication of their annual results ensuring that, despite challenging results, their messages were heard by key financial and political stakeholders and centred on what support the broader cycling industry needs from Government to recover from a challenging few years.

This included:

  • Securing interviews with leading national print including the Financial Times
  • Coverage in the Telegraph, Guardian, Daily Mail, FT and trade publications
  • Supporting their CEO, Will Butler-Adams OBE, in media interviews including on BBC Radio 4 including the Today Programme.

Back British Cycling Campaign

Alongside our work with Brompton Bicycle, we also run the Back British Cycling campaign which is calling for the Government to maintain anti-dumping measures that protect British cycle manufacturing.

As a part of this, in January we:

  • Secured a further interview with the Financial Times and Brompton’s CEO Will Butler Adams OBE, focusing on the impacts of removing the anti-dumping measures and the challenges facing the industry
  • Broadcast coverage including live interviews on Sky News following Chancellor Rachel Reeves MP visiting the Brompton store in China

Stop Sea Blasts Campaign

Following the success of the Stop Sea Blast’s campaign to reduce the noise and harm caused by the clearing of unexploded explosives left in British waters following two World Wars, the Government announced its commitment to implementing new measures to curb underwater noise and accelerate renewable energy. Following the announcement, we worked with Joanna Lumley, who headed the campaign, to issue a response.

Joanna’s response was:

  • Included in national reporting on the announcement such as the BBC, the Daily Mail, the Independent and the Daily Express
  • Feature in key trade publications including Marine Insight and Energy Live News.

CyberUp Campaign

As part of our work in cyber policy, we run the CyberUp Campaign—the UK’s leading coalition calling for an urgent update to the UK’s cyber laws, including the Computer Misuse Act 1990 (CMA), to future-proof our national cyber resilience against growing and increasingly complex cyber threats.

In January, we have been supporting Lord Holmes in advancing this much-needed update through the Data (Use and Access) Bill.

This included:

  • Securing trade coverage of the Lord Holmes amendment and quotes from the CyberUp campaign in Computer Weekly and Computing.

EVA England

We provide public affairs and PR support for EVA England, the members’ association dedicated to promoting the interests of electric vehicle drivers. In January, we helped EVA England make a number of public announcements and react to developments in the EV space.

This included:

  • An announcement on the appointment of EVA England’s new Chief Executive featured in key trade publications such as Fleet World, The Fast Charge, Electric Drives and The Energyst

UKinbound

We provide public affairs and PR support to UKinbound, the only trade association dedicated to inbound tourism. In January, we supported UKinbound in responding to the Home Office’s announcement of new measures to increase the price of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) fee, ensuring their voice was heard across numerous trade publications.

This included:

  • Securing coverage in key trade publications, including Travel Mole, ttg Media, Travel Gossip and Travel Bulletin
